Kindness

When it comes to humankind, the very feature that makes us human is kindness and compassion for our fellow human beings. Time and again, studies demonstrate that in times of need (such as when natural disasters happen) humans are more prone to try to help each other than to try to take advantage of the other’s misfortune for personal gain.

However, kindness and empathy are not inborn features and they take some time to develop: that is why we need to teach our kids how to be kind and empathetic.

Teaching our kids how charity and uplifting our neighbour are great virtues that are rewarding all by themselves will have lifelong effects on their personality and happiness: studies also demonstrate that kids that were prompted to be charitable in childhood stay charitable in adulthood too; and that people who are charitable and kind are happier and live longer than those who aren’t
